Animation Timeline

Timeline of Animations that stood out personally to me :

1914 :  Gertie The Dinosaur by Winsor McCay
A revolutionary animation when fantasy interacts with reality. If I saw this animation in 1914 it would have been magical and that why I really like it. I also find this animation fascinating because it was created before the idea of Cel Animation so every frame and to be completely drawn.

1941: Dumbo by Disney
The Animation is generic with disney but they make the story absorbing. Dumbo was a lovely film with a sad and happy story line. I felt Disney knew how to grip the audience its inspirational and I hope to learn more from their films in my animation.

1982:  Dimension of Dialogue by Jan Svankmajer
One of my favourite animations of all time purely for its skill in producing such a beautiful, complex and messy short. I love his train of thought. Dimensions of Dialogue really shows this to me from starting at one point and ending at another all the time keeping with the meaning of relationships. My favourite section of the animation is "passionate Discourse" I love the beautiful clay humans and how they are just mushed together.

1995: Toy Story by Pixar
I think this was a very significant moment in animation within the last 20 years as it was the first feature length CGI film and to me one of the biggest way to make a film today. The story is adventurously beautiful and a favourite of mine.

1994: Lion King by Disney
A film I grew up with as a child and still love and watch today. The main reason why I love this film is because of the soundtrack and the portrail of the characters which is really interesting considering the animals they are suppose to be. It a great family movie and will loved for generations to come.
